Coordinating an
Effective Product Meeting
Want to sell more product? If your customers know about and understand the
products you sell, they will buy them when the opportunity arises. Keep your
trade customers and salesmen up to date - arrange to have your Burnham
representative come to your branch and conduct a product meeting. Your product
meetings can be as simple as a PowerPoint presentation and a cutaway boiler to
the live firing and demonstration of a boiler. All product meetings can be
tailored to any group size, product, or time allotment. Outlined below is a
checklist of things to consider when coordinating a product meeting.
Product Meeting Checklist
- Reserve a room
- Arrange for food/catering
- Contact Burnham for help with promotional flyers
- Invite trade to product meeting and get RSVPs
- Consider door prizes using The Burnham Collection catalog
- Arrange for audio/video equipment (i.e. projector, screen, TV/VCR, microphone, etc.)
- Reserve a cutaway boiler from Burnham
- Order product literature
- Provide an incentive/promotion for customers to purchase the featured product
- Prepare an agenda for the meeting (see Burnham for sample agendas)
- Post a Burnham sign outside the meeting room
- Have a sign-up sheet and name tags at a registration table
- Send a follow-up thank you letter to attendees one week after the product meeting
- Establish a follow-up training seminar on the product presented for contractors to attend
- Make sure you have plenty of business cards
